Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyan is a real let down .His earlier movie Shoot Out At Lokhandwala was a hit as it was based on a real life story. This film, though it has leading actors, like Sanjay Dutt,Sunil Shetty,Naseerudin Shah,Shabana Azmi to name a few,is not up to the mark.
There are 10 short stories, each of barely 10 to 15 mins. Each story has different topics but are not able to hold the attention of viewers due to lack of continuity and poor presentation. The only good stories are Matrimony, which is rather realistic, one with Naseerudin Shah and Shabana Azmi, which deals with the theme of religious sentiments and is rather bold and well portrayed by both the stars and the one on balloons with Nana Patekar ,which is a touching story.
Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Shetty are wasted in a real useless story of 2 brothers as underworld dons. Here the director tried to make it a little like Shoot Out but failed completely.
Such movies are not worth wasting time and money. Why does'nt Gupta go back to some more realistic themes or exploits of some of our courageous police and army officers ,which highlights and brings to the masses the daredevil way these officers handle dangerous situations at the risk of their own lives.
